Fish-On-Safaris offers all its guests a safe, secure African experience under the personal supervision of an experienced Zambezi guide. These fishing excursions are offered ten months of the year (June and July are excluded). Those wanting to take the challenge of the Zambezi Tiger should look to the spring season – September, October and November.

Guests will be accommodated at Island View Lodge, which is situated along the Eastern Caprivi upstream from Victoria Falls. This stretch of the upper Zambezi is well known for its excellent Tiger and Bream fishing, as well as its overflowing abundance of fauna and flora. Bird watching along this stretch is particularly exciting, with frequent Heron, Vulture and Eagle sightings being made.

After arriving at your private riverside lodge and settling in, an experienced Zambezi angler will brief you on the local river system, and the arcane art of Tiger fishing.

Island View Lodge is situated 10 meters from the river where our well-equipped boats will be docked.

To avoid the heat of the African day, angling excursions are at daybreak and the late afternoon. Each morning after some coffee and rusks, fisherman can expect to hit the water, rods in hand, for a couple of hours of exciting fishing along the mighty Zambezi River. Fishing is from 5 meter boats, designed to meet the local conditions, with the maximum of three anglers per boat.  

Back at the lodge a delicious breakfast will be prepared and served, during which time guests are invited to swim and recoup their energy for an afternoon ride along the river.

Escaping the heat of the midday, we will return to the water later each afternoon to seek revenge on the Tigers! It is at this time, against the backdrop of some Africa’s most brilliant sunsets, that the sighting of the Zambezi’s most interesting fauna and bird species is most breathtaking.

At the end of each day back at camp, guests can enjoy warm showers and a cold beer at the Lodge’s restaurant and bar.

When you are not indulging in tight lines, guests are invited to take in the glory of this magnificent land. Relax around the private swimming pool, or indulge in more active pursuits – photo safaris, bird watching walks, hikes and white river rafting.

The excursion tariff is inclusive of all accommodation, meals, angling and boat equipment. Additional pursuits, such as visits to game reserves, can be arranged by Fish-On-Safaris.
